Werklund Foundation provides empowering opportunities for youth in our community and across the world. To accomplish this, we partner with other like-minded institutions that share our vision of excellence in leadership education.

The Werklund Foundation is proud to be the leading sponsor of the Calgary Board of Education's GlobalConnect: International Youth Leadership Summit (IYLS) China 2012 as well partnering with the CBE to bring Empowering Minds IYLS - Calgary 2012.  IYLS serves public education by ensuring students have the opportunity to develop international, intercultural and global awarenss and skills in multiple envireonments and in traditional and non-traditional learning settings. The project challenges students to consider careers, leadership and current issues with world-mindedness and in collaboration with students from around the globe.

To allow students three intensive days to consider and question complex global issues and related international careers, in diverse cultural and sub-cultural settings, with peers from diverse cultural backgrounds.
